University career

Zach Randolph earned his first distinction by finishing second in Mr. Basketball’s vote in his senior year at Marion High School, behind Jared Jeffries. That year he helped his high school win his seventh state title.

He then went to Michigan State University, where he played for two seasons before coming to the NBA Draft 2001.

Professional career

Portland Trail Blazers (2001-2007)

In June 2009, he was sent to the Memphis Grizzlies in an exchange involving Quentin Richardson, the Clippers already having a well-supplied racket with Chris Kaman, Marcus Camby and all-new drafter Blake Griffin. Against all odds, he became the leader of a surprising Grizzlies team, which finished tenth in the conference. He is rewarded by a first selection at the NBA All-Star Game 2010, where he makes a discreet match.

In the 2010-2011 season, Memphis qualifies for eighth place in the play-offs. Randolph is a big contributor to his team’s semifinal conference against top-seeded San Antonio, scoring 17 of his 31 points, his record in the play-offs, in the last quarter-time of the sixth game of the series. In the next round against the Oklahoma City Thunder, he made three more games with at least 30 points and 10 rebounds in the first, fourth and sixth games of the series. During this last meeting, he scored 30 points and captured 13 rebounds which allows the Grizzlies to play a match seven in Oklahoma City. It was finally the Thunder who won the final round of the series on the score of 105 to 90, Randolph scoring 17 points and capturing 10 rebounds. During this series, he receives an individual distinction for his season by appearing in the All-NBA Third Team, the third five NBA.

Sacramento Kings (since 2017)

Free agent in the summer of 2017, Z-Bo signs with the Sacramento Kings for $ 24 million over two years. His number 50 is removed by the Grizzlies of Memphis.
